The ROSE program at St Therese Academy is a specialized program that helps our students Rise with Opportunity, Support and Education. In conjunction with parental partnership, the ROSE program shall foster an environment that addresses the individual needs for students to develop lifelong skills to maximize successful outcomes related to achieving a productive and independent lifestyle. Our ROSE program runs independently within each level (Elementary, Middle and High School) of St Therese Academy.
Students in the ROSE program at St Therese will learn essential, lifelong skills that address their specific needs in reference to independent living. ROSE students work on effective communication, interpersonal skills, pre-employment skills, community access training and financial awareness. Students in the ROSE program work on applied curriculum. Our lower school ROSE students work within the Unique Learning System. Our middle and high school students work on an applied core curriculum in ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies and Religion. All elective courses are offered with non-ROSE peers.
High school ROSE program students will work towards an applied diploma, as approved by the state of Louisiana. Each year, ROSE students will take applied core courses that focus on meeting the needs of each group of ROSE students. Teachers work to differentiate their instruction to make the curriculum accessable and relevant to our ROSE students. Our ROSE students also work in elective courses that further enhance their ability to be successful in a post-secondary world. Some elective classes offered to our ROSE students are: art, marketing, digital media, PAES lab, Quest for Success, Service Learning, School to Work internships, and life skills.
